The best thing about food events is that you get to try so many different types of food all in one place, as well as samples and try things that you wouldn’t normally choose. A lot of people don’t know about all the great food events coming up in Teesside, to make things easier I’ve compiled a list of food markets and events taking place over the next few months. Best of all, they are all free to attend – get ready for food overload and gaining a few pounds over the Summer!

Orange Pip Market – Saturday 28th April
Orange Pip Market returns on Saturday 28th April, if you’ve never been before it’s a great day out either with your friends or family to try local food, hear great music and get involved in activities. Middlesbrough’s Bedford and Baker Street get transformed into an all eating, singing and dancing zone. The best bit for me is obviously the food, it’s full of street food from all corners of the globe and it’s a great way to try local businesses too. Orange Pip Market is held on the last Saturday of the month throughout the Spring and Summer period!

Saltburn Food Festival – Sunday 29th July
Held for the first-time last year, the festival has returned for the second time on the 29th July. Last year’s festival had over 100 stalls from food vendors across the North East and North Yorkshire and it was a huge success! The creators of the festival also run Saltburn’s monthly Farmer’s Market and “love bringing good local food right into the heart of the town”. The day looks jam packed with live cookery shows, the biggest list of vendors I’ve ever seen from hot spicy street food, cakes, veggie, vegan, sausages to cheese as well as gins, rums the list is endless!! To make access easier there is a range of transport options available including buses, park and ride options as well as express buses direct from Middlesbrough train station to Saltburn – see more here. I’m looking forward to this one, it’s not one to miss!
It looks like my weekends are going to be full of eating, but that’s nothing new! If there are any other events happening please let me know.
